    Message from the Principal
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I can’t believe the school year is about to begin. I am so excited that it is time to come back to school. Learning is our primary goal and in order for us to achieve our goal, we need our students here. So welcome back! We missed you! Please know that the staff members at Ellington work very hard to create a community that motivates and empowers all to achieve high academic goals, think critically, and problem-solve. We teach our students responsible and respectful behaviors so that they have the skills and tools that they need to succeed in society. We strive to follow our T.E.N.D. motto by treating others with dignity and respect, encouraging others, never giving up, and doing our best.Additionally, adults at Ellington practice educational and emotional equity by building relationships with each child, finding out their individual needs, and then fulfilling those needs. Our teachers ensure that Ellington Eagles are consistently engaged in rigorous learning environments where character counts and respect for self, peers, staff, and environment is demonstrated by all.We are pleased to welcome two new additions to our staff. Mrs. Alcala comes to us from the Kipp Academy where she was described as being an “excellent teacher;” she will be teaching our 4th grade Eagles. Mrs. Cosolo comes to us from Slauson where she is highly regarded by her last principal and described by staff members as being creative and hard working. Mrs. Cosolo will teach our 6th graders. I am thrilled about our new staff members and look forward to an exciting 2018-2019 school year.As for the rest of our esteemed staff, I can guarantee you that together we will do everything we can to support our Eagles. We are constantly engaging in reflection and learning to help better serve our students and community, therefore, I am confident we will succeed at providing an environment where students thrive. Please note that I will do everything I can to provide our children a safe nurturing environment that promotes lifelong learning. I value your input and believe that with your support, continued feedback, and involvement the possibilities are endless, therefore, my door is always open. I look forward to another spectacular school year at Ellington! Gooooooo Eagles!Thank you,Alexis Norman Ed. D.Principal, Ellington K-8 SchoolAzusa Unified School District

    Ellington's PTO Update

Ellington’s PTO, (Parent Teacher Organization) serves the same purpose as a PTA.  The main difference is that 100% of our membership drive goes directly to Ellington students.  PTO membership envelopes will be sent home.  The cost is $5.00 per family to join.  Our PTO has been hard at work planning fun and exciting activities for students.  Thanks to PTO and parent support, we are able to offer field trips, awards, family nights, and assemblies.

PTO sells school T-shirts all year.  We have spirit day every Friday.  Students are encouraged to wear their school shirt or a blue shirt to show school pride.   Our main fundraiser will take place in September.  We ask that each child try to sell at least 1 item. Thank you for supporting our school.  A special thank you to our PTO board members for helping to make Ellington a great place!
