BMX Stunt Riders Encourage Students

BMX performed a series of stunts and encouraged students to do well on the upcoming STAR test. The school's goal is 850. The riders told  students you should always do your best and that success including stunt riding is the result of practice, practice and more practice. The group impressed students with a series of thrill-seeking stunts. Principal Paula Rode expressed her appreciation to parents and students whose fund-raising made the event possible.

Spelling Bee Champions

Fifth grader Lennon Cruz won the Ellington  Spelling Bee with the word “lullaby” but he said the word that was his biggest challenge was “eclipse.”  Principal Paula Rode congratulated Lennon along with second place winner Brieana Perez and third place winner Edward Bonilla in the 17 round competition.  Lennon now proceeds to the Scripts Regional Spelling Bee.

Message from Principal Paula Rode

Principal Paula Rode

Principal Paula Rode welcomes you to Ellington. While at Ellington, Mrs. Rode believes each student will have the opportunity to learn, become productive citizens and have a lifelong love for learning. She invites parents to join in the many activities offered at the school.

Ellington encourages parents to participate in school activities. PTO is a good avenue for parents to get involved in school activities.

PTO Update

Last year our school voted to switch from PTA to PTO (Parent Teacher Organization).  PTO serves the same purpose as PTA.  One main difference is that our membership drive will go 100% to Ellington.  PTO membership envelopes will be sent home. The cost is $5.00 per family to join. Our PTO has been hard at work planning fun and exciting activities.  Thanks to PTO, we are able to offer field trips, awards, Test Success Dinner, Family Nights, assemblies, etc.  PTO sells school

T-shirts all year.  We have spirit day every Friday where students can show their school pride by wearing their shirts or just by wearing blue.

Our main fundraiser will kick-off on September 19.  We ask that each child try to sell at least 1 itemThanks for supporting our school.  A special thank you to our PTO board members for helping to make Ellington a great place to be.
